I just got one for Christmas that I'm dying to use but I don't have any good recipes!Does anyone know any good slow cooker soup recipes?
Almost any recipe you have for soup can be made in a crockpot. It's just a slower, moister cooking form, which is great for stews, where the meat will cook slowly and absorb the flavors of the liquid it's in. It's really great for lean and cheap cuts of meat such as stew meat, because it is such a low, slow cooking process.
A few suggestions first though. If a recipe calls for hamburger or meat, I would brown the hamburger completely, and brown the meat on all sides before placing in crockpot. This just adds extra flavor that it won't get in the crockpot when added raw. Also, if a recipe calls for rice or noodles, cook them seperately and add into the soup in the last half hour of cooking time. Hope these recipes help. Enjoy!
Slow-cook Chicken %26amp; Mushroom Stew
1 can cream of mushroom %26amp; roasted garlic soup
5-6 fresh, boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper to taste
1 package (8 oz.) med. white mushrooms
1 cup baby carrots
2 celery ribs, cut into 1 1/2 inch lengths
In slow cooker, stir together soup and 1/2 can of water. Cut chicken into 2-inch chunks. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Put chicken into cooker. Add mushrooms, carrots and celery. Stir gently to mix. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until chicken is done.
Posole
2 cups pork roast, cooked and cubed
1 large can hominy, undrained
1 can green chiles, chopped
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 large onion, diced
1 to 2 cups water
Flour tortillas
Cheese, grated
Put the pork, hominy, green chiles, chili powder, salt, onion and water in a slow cooker and cook 6-8 hours on low. Serve in bowls with lots of grated cheese on top. Pass the flour tortillas.
Honest and True Irish Stew
6 medium potatoes (about 2 pounds),
peeled and thinly sliced
2 pounds lean, bone-in lamb or 1 1/2 pounds
boneless lamb, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
2 medium onions, peeled and sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon dried summer savory
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley or
1 1/2 teaspoons dried parsley
1 1/2 cups water
In slow cooker, layer half the potatoes, and then all the lamb and onions. Combine salt, pepper, thyme and summer savory. Sprinkle half of salt mixture and 1 tablespoon of the parsley over onions. Layer remaining potatoes; sprinkle with remaining salt mixture. Pour water over all. Cook 6-8 hours on low until lamb is tender. Add water as needed to maintain level about 1 inch in bottom of pan. Just before serving, sprinkle with remaining parsley.
CLAM CHOWDER
5 cans (10-3/4 ounces each) condensed reduced-fat cream of potato soup, undiluted
2 cans (12 ounces each) evaporated skimmed milk
2 cans (10 ounces each) whole baby clams, rinsed and drained
1 can (14-3/4 ounces) cream-style corn
2 cans (4 ounces each) tiny shrimp, rinsed and drained
3/4 cup crisp-cooked and crumbled bacon (about 1/2 pound) or imitation bacon bits
Lemon pepper to taste
Oyster crackers
Combine all ingredients except crackers in slow cooker. Cover; cook on LOW 3 to 4 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with oyster crackers.
Mom's Broccoli cheese soup
1/2 onion, chopped
1 bag frozen chopped broccoli
2 1/2 cups parmesan cheese
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 can evaporated milk
Saute onion until tender. Place in crockpot with broccoli. Just barely cover with water, cook 1 hour on high. Stir in milk and cheeses. Cover and allow to melt, then cook for one hour on low. Serve.
Brian's Chili
2 cans Chili Beans in Hot Sauce (Bush's pref)
1 can Tomato Juice (Campbells pref)
1/2 a white onion
1 jar Hot Picante Sauce (Pace pref)
1-3 lb Stew Meat (to taste)
Combine all ingredients in crockpot and cook 4-6hrs on low.Does anyone know any good slow cooker soup recipes?

Boil 3-4 potatoes and then cut them into smaller pieces once they are cooked abit. Also brown some ground sausage. In the crock pot put a few small cans of condensensed potato soup, some spinach without the stems and a small carton of cream. Add the potatoes and the sausage and let it cook for like 6 hours. It is delicious, just ask my husband. There are also some good recipies for beef stew online! Bon Apatite.
Any soup is good for slow cooking.

A variety of edible mushrooms
Sliced onion
Celery sliced
Garlic sliced
mixed herbs
Mushroom ketchup or soya sauce but the former is the better.
Veg, beef, or chicken stock or cubes
Water if necessary.
First turn you slow cooker on to high for about 20 minutes to warm up.
Meanwhile slice all the ingredients that need doing - put the celery in the bottom and then layer up.
Depending how thick or thin you want the soup I would give less fluid than you might think because all the veg are all going to release more intense flavours and fluids - it is always a sup rise to me when I come back and find a lot of cooking liquor, so I now follow my instincts and then half it !! Lol! So, say a couple of cups or a bit more for a thinner soup.
When you are ready to go out and ignore the slow cooker for the day turn it to slow and resist any temptation to open the lid and look or taste or smell. This will cool down the recipe too much.
When you get back turn it into a large clean sauce pan to cool slightly but do not turn off slow cooker. Put through blender and then back into the slow cooker to keep warm - add cream or elmlea if desired. Enjoy!!!! If you have an auto setting this will keep it at a safe heat but without cooking for any longer.
Potato Leek Soup
2 lbs potatoes (5-6 med), peeled and cut into 3/4'; cubes
3 TB all-purp flour
5 cups chicken broth
2 med leeks (white and tender green), rinsed well and chopped
6 TB chopped fresh dill or 2 1/2 TB dried
1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped cooked ham
3 4 cup heavy cream
Place the potatoes in a 4-quart electric slow cooker. Sprinkle on the flour and toss well. Add the chicken broth, mixing well. Stir in the leeks and 3 TB of the fresh dill or 1 1/2 TB of the dried dill.
Cover and cook on the low heat setting 8 to 8 1/2 hours, or until the potatoes are tender. In a blender or food processor, puree 1 to 2 cups of the potatoes and leeks with a little of the soup liquid and return to the soup remaining in the slow cooker. Stir in the ham, cream and remaining 3 TB fresh dill or 1 TB dried dill. Cover and heat 5 to 10 minutes longer.
