Any Spicy Soup Recipes for colds?

Ok, so my boyfriend is sick with sinuses due to the cold weather. He's planning on going to the doctor soon, and in the meantime, I was wondering what kinds of soup recipes would be good for someone that needs to clear up their sinuses?

Oh, and please. I'm horrible at cooking [but capable] and my ingredients are low, and yes I am 15 (please don't comment my age). So I sort of need easy-to-use ingredients.

Please and thank you lots! ^-^Any Spicy Soup Recipes for colds?

These have few ingredients and if you needed you buy anything, it's relatively inexpensive.

Some advice: you want something made with chicken because chicken soup helps colds or the flu go away faster. Don't worry about clearing the sinuses; any hot soup (temperature, not spicy) will help clear sinuses, spiciness will actually make sinuses worse and it will burn like mad.
hi try this 1 lb. extra lean beef, ground

2 eggs, beaten

1/2 c. fresh cilantro, chopped

1/2 c. fresh mint, chopped

4 garlic cloves, minced

1 onion, chopped

3 cans chicken broth, not generic

Dash of pepper

1 can stewed tomatoes

1/2 c. real rice, not Minute

1/2 c. salsa

1 tsp. cumin

Heat broth and tomatoes while mixing all other ingredients except salsa. Make into small meatballs and drop carefully into simmering broth. Simmer slowly 20 minutes, covered. Add salt and salsa at end as needed. Sprinkle cilantro on top.

Spicy Chicken Noodle Soup

Ingredients

1 package (9 ounces) fresh angel hair pasta

9 cups defatted homemade chicken broth (or 6 cups defatted reduced-sodium canned broth and 3 cups water)

6 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped

1 piece fresh ginger (1'; long), unpeeled, cut into 2 or 3 chunks

3 dried small hot red peppers

8 ounces skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into bite-size pieces

4 scallions, finely chopped

Directions

Place the pasta in a large heat-proof bowl. Pour enough boiling water over the pasta to cover it. Stir gently with a fork to break up the noodles. Set aside.

In a large saucepan, combine the broth, garlic, ginger and peppers. Bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the chicken and cook for 5 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center. Test by cutting one piece in half.

Drain the noodles and add to the saucepan. Cook, stirring with a fork, for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the noodles are tender and heated through.

Remove the ginger and peppers from the soup; discard. Ladle the soup into bowls, and sprinkle with the scallions.
I don't know any spicy soup recipes but when my husband gets a cold we get a package of pizza rolls and Frank's Red Hot. (of course, he enjoys this at anytime also) That'll get your sinuses workin again. good luck!!!
If you want the easiest possible soup, get a carton of the low-sodium Swanson's chicken broth. Put it on the stove over low heat and add a clove or two of peeled garlic (you should take this out before serving if he's not a big garlic fan), a pinch of crushed red peppers (like you use on pizza) and (if you have it) a few slices of peeled fresh ginger root (also remove these before serving). You can also slice some baby carrots and add them. Let that simmer very lightly for 20 - 30 minutes. While it's heating through, cook some thin noodles or rice in a separate pot. Don't cook them in the broth -- it'll get cloudy. Drain the noodles or rice, then add to the broth just before serving.

I make this when I'm feeling too rotten to cook -- it really clears my head.
My spicy bean soup:

Combine these ingredients in the crock pot...

1 bag dry kidney beans- (soaked overnight in saltwater to soften) drained and rinsed

1/2 bag baby carrots

1 med zucchini chopped

1/2 white onion chopped

4 cloves garlic chopped

1 tsp. cumin

1 tsp. crushed red pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 and 1/2 can of any broth

1/4 bunch cilantro chopped

1 tsp olive oil

Let it cook on high for 3 hours then low for 3 hours until beans are plenty soft.

You may not have this ingredient on hand but I like to use 1 tsp marjoram as well to soften the beans even more.
This is wonderful. I got it from another Yahoo Answers user - MJ from this answer:

I made a couple of changes and I noted those where I made them. My family loved it and it is nice and spicy - easy too!

Tortilla Soup

1 jalapeno seeded and diced

1TBSP chili powder

1TBSP lemon pepper

6, 15 oz cans either chicken or vegetable broth

1 8 ounce can tomato paste

1-3tsp louisiana hot sauce (start small and heat it up to your liking). (I used Belizian hot sauce - made from Habenero Chilis)

Condiments:

Flour Tortillas cut into strips. ( I toasted the strips in a 425 degree oven until they were brown)

sour cream

sliced avocados

shredded cheese

Heat the oil and butter in large stock pot. Add chicken, onion, celery, carrots, celery, jalapeno and garlic. Mix well. Saute 5 minutes over medium high. Stir in flour, cumin, chili powder and lemon pepper. Mix well. Stir in broth, hot sauce and paste. Put lid on and simmer 1 hour or until the vegetables are the way you like them. Ladle out into your bowl and then top with your condiment(s) of choice.
