Chicken noodle soup recipes?

as the weather is turning cold i am searching for a recipe. does anyone know how to make chicken noodle soup with the almost dumpling-like noodles? i am talking about the style that Golden Corral and Denny's etc. serve. the broth is a little thicker than usual and the noodles are thicker (not egg noodles). anyone know? thanks!Chicken noodle soup recipes?

Open can of Chicken Noodle soup, heat till hot, eat till gone. Geez...lets make it harder than it has to be!
Chicken Noodle Soup





4 cups chicken stock, home made or store bought


3/4 cup diced onion


3/4 cup diced celery


1 tablespoon minced garlic


2 ounces dried egg noodles, cooked to al dente


1/2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh tarragon leaves


2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh parsley leaves


Lemon halves, for serving





Bring stock to boil for 2 minutes in a large, non-reactive stockpot with lid on, over high heat. Add onion, celery, and garlic. Lower heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Add noodles and cook 5 more minutes. Remove from heat and add herbs and salt and pepper, to taste. Serve with lemon halves and add squeeze of lemon juice if desired.





HOMEMADE CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP





1 whole chicken


4 cubes chicken bouillon


Enough water to cover chicken


1 batch homemade noodles


1 onion


1 c. potatoes


1 c. celery


1 c. carrots





Cover chicken with water, add chicken bouillon in large pan. Cook until chicken comes off bones easily. Save broth. Debone the chicken and put meat in broth, add the remaining ingredients (add more or less vegetables to taste) except noodles and let simmer on low heat for several hours, stirring occasionally. Add noodles about 1/2 hour before serving. Cook until noodles are tender. Leftover can be frozen.
Im not sure about the noodles i like egg noodles but this is my recipe.


1-whole chick boil til the meat comes off the bone


1/2cup salt


1/2 cup pepper


1/4 cup garlic powder (or 5 cloves i like garlic)


4cups celery


4cups carrots


4cups onions (yellow)


i saute my veggies in the pot i boil the chicken in, add all ingredients in the pot bring to a boil let it reduce 1/2 of the pot add 1/4 more water let boil. the more i reduce it the thicker it gets for me you can add some cream of mushroom soup if you want or 2. i have never been to those restaurants.. but i make me soup every year.. sometimes i add potatoes if i dont want the noodles and i add the noodles at the last boil, then i serve .. enjoy
